WEIRD NEWS: Tattoo portrait

WEIRD NEWS: Tattoo portrait

People are doing tattooed portraits for ages. But tattoo fashion is changing. For example today, many people like to tattoo a portrait of Heath Ledger in the role of the Joker (Dark Knight), or the portrait of Jack Nicholson (The Shining) and of course the portrait of Johnny Depp.

The Mystifying 3D Tattoos -Get a cool 3d tattoo!

Has body modification gone too far? The craze and infatuation over the ever-popular 3D Tattoo is mystifying.

Those advocating for the madness claim adding shape beneath the skin enhances the tattoo by having the pattern injected giving extra shape to the design. But what are the complications?

What it is:

The basic idea of a 3D tattoo is to slightly lift a tattoo up about two millimeters. This is done by putting a tiny amount of hyaluronic acid (sugar) under the skin, by means of injection. It goes underneath the tattoo in specific areas of the design to show the shape of the outline and specific points of the tattoo, creating a contoured design.

The amazing aspect about these tattoos is that any part of the body can be raised. It doesn’t matter if it’s your cheeks, your thighs or your left shoulder, it can be done.

Few tattoo artists will attempt these strange designs, and even fewer specialize in them.

What’s the appeal:

A tattoo in three dimensions does not look cool. It looks like your tattoo was done wrong and needs extra special care. It looks like a scarred tattoo often seen when the artist doesn’t really know what he’s doing. It looks like the client had a bad reaction to the ink for it to puff up in 3-D. It just looks bad.

Safety:

Today we will do anything for the purpose of looks. We will go through surgical procedures, and take numerous types of drugs to enhance our physical appearance. But some things just aren’t safe. Injecting yourself with sugar so that your tattoo pops up in three dimensions is not safe, and definitely not cool.

Today I'm Thinking Of... Designer Glasses

I'm thinking of getting back to my glasses again. Do I like it? Not at all. I've been wearing glasses since I'm 16 due to watching the tele too close to the screen. The doc even complain why my eyes keep on blinking that-n-that (making a tapping with forefinger and the thumb) when I visited him last millenium (LOL!).

Then I switched to contacts. Sooo much freedom! No more feeling 'my sight is limited to this stupid frame' (not to mention I broke 4 frames in a year!). Yet I am so lazy to take it off before I go to bed sometimes which is bad to the health of the retina. So.. there you go. I'm thinking of getting a designer glasses to be worn during my in-between contact times.

So what did I find? These ranges of designer glasses: D&G, Dolce & Gabbaba, Gucci, Prada and Versus by Versace. Color? Plain black, coz it's timeless and non-seasonal. Design? Squarish, coz it's a cross between too geeky and uber chic (plus it's kinda remind me of my late dad's). It has to be no-fuss kinda look, with very simple and minimal feel.

Btw, I already got one. It's D&G in glossy black squarish acetate frame. Smashing (plus I got it cheap online). And, I'm thinking of getting another one: the Gucci frame. Hmm... tempting!
