Leila Lopes who has a full name Leila Luliana da Costa Vieira Lopes was born on February 26, 1986. She is a beauty contest and was crowned Miss Angola 2011 and Miss Universe 2011.
Born in Benguela, Angola, Leila Lopes is a business management student in Britain. On October 8, 2010 She was crowned Miss Angola and On 12 September 2011 She was crowned Miss Universe 2011.
Leila Lopes was named the winner of Miss Universe 2011 in São Paulo, Brazil on September 12, 2011 and she was the first Miss Angola who managed to become champion in the Miss Universe. Lopes received the title from former Miss Universe, Ximena Navarrete of Mexico.
Lopes became the fourth African woman who won the Miss Universe, the last before the 1999 Miss Universe Mpule Kwelagobe of Botswana.

A new Miss Universe was crowned Monday night: She's Miss Angola, business student Leila Lopes, and she plans to work on HIV advocacy worldwide, in addition to helping her own country.
"As Miss Angola I've already done a lot to help my people," Lopes, 25, said Tuesday morning after taking home the crown. "I've worked with various social causes. I work with poor kids, I work in the fight against HIV. I work to protect the elderly and I have to do everything that my country needs.
"I think now as Miss Universe I will be able to do much more."

Miss Universe 2011
Miss Universe 2011, the 60th anniversary of the Miss Universe pageant, will be held at the Credicard Hall, in São Paulo, Brazil on September 12, 2011. Ximena Navarrete of Mexico will crown her successor. Contestants from 89 countries and territories are participating in this year´s pageant, surpassing the previous record of 86 contestants in2006.
