Meet Sue!

Sue bought this 1960s Pat Sandler wool dress and jacket set from Couture Allure a while back.  She wore it for a girl's night out last weekend.  I love the way she has combined vintage and modern to make a completely unique outfit that really, really works.  Thank you for sharing Sue!

Meet Carmen and Tracy

You've met Carmen before.  She's a long-time customer of mine.  When I wrote my post, "Why Can't I Find a 50s Dress to Fit Me?", Carmen went out and bought the Vogue pattern 1172 that I suggested.

Carmen is very lucky to have Tracy Popken of Salvage House Boutique in her personal fashion arsenal.  Tracy is a fashion designer and seamstress in Dallas, TX who specializes in restoring, remaking, and replicating vintage clothing.  She used that Vogue pattern to custom make the dress Carmen is wearing in the first photo.  Tracy did a phenomenal job on this dress and doesn't Carmen look stunning?  A talented seamstress is worth her weight in gold if she can make you look this good!

Meet Rosalind and Caitlin

Meet beautiful bride Rosalind with her brand new husband on their wedding day.

Rosalind purchased this 1950s lace wedding dress from Couture Allure over a year ago to wear for her wedding.  Doesn't she look happy as can be?  Best wishes Rosalind!

Caitlin purchased this 1950s full skirted dress from Couture Allure.  This dress was waiting for just the right girl and Caitlin wears it beautifully, don't you think?  The dress looks just as fabulous without a crinoline and I love those long sleeves!

Jen and Laura Wear Vintage

You've met Jen and Laura before.  Here they both are wearing vintage summer dresses purchased from Couture Allure!

Here's Jen wearing a 1970s rayon sundress.  And yes, that's Josh Groban with his arm around her!  Jen volunteers for Musicopia, an organization that is dedicated to bringing music programs into schools and Josh was there for an event.  Jen said the cool rayon fabric was perfect for a hot summer's night.

Here is Laura wearing a cotton dress from the 1950s.  She's not just wearing it, she is rocking it!  I love the addition of the vintage floral hat and white purse.  Doesn't she look fabulous?

Meet Judith and Keri!

Meet Judith, author of the blog Style Crone.  Judith has an incredible sense of style and the most amazing collection of vintage hats that she wears with an equally amazing wardrobe full of vintage clothing.  She shares her fashion inspiration on her blog and I am an avid fan.

Judith recently purchased this late 1930s hat from Couture Allure and found out that she can wear it with the feather and pouf facing front or back.  Doesn't she look grand?  Please pop on over to Style Crone for more photos of Judith and her hats.

 Speaking of hats....meet Keri.  Keri is another woman with an incredible fashion sense.  She purchased this 1970s beaded evening gown by Michael Novarese from Couture Allure and combined it with a 20s style cloche made by her hat designer, Mr. Sax Unlimited.  Isn't she beautiful?

 Keri also purchased this 1980s full skirted dress from Couture Allure.  She paired it with another incredible hat.  When Keri sent me this photo, I gasped out loud.  I love her unique perspective and her sense of style, don't you?

 Meet Tammy!  She purchased this 1960s Victoria Royal dress from Couture Allure and wore it for her anniversary dinner that was celebrated in Las Vegas.  Doesn't she look beautiful?  The dress compliments the glow of love shining from her smile.

Laura is a favorite around here.  She has a great eye for what will work on her.  Laura purchased this 1950s chiffon party dress as soon as I listed it on the site last summer.  She wore it last weekend to the annual Gala at her workplace.  Laura, you look beautiful and you do the dress proud!

More Customer Inspiration!

Meet Vanna.  She snapped up this gorgeous vintage 1950s taffeta polka dot dress as soon as it appeared on the website.  Vanna says she loved the red lining of the pockets and cuffs, so she added a red belt, shoes and a red petticoat to make the dress her own.  A red crinoline...simply genius! Vanna, you are a vision of vivaciousness!

Carmen's been a customer of mine for several years now.  She has exquisite taste.  When I decided to sell some of the vintage handbags from my personal collection earlier this year, Carmen grabbed this bag as her very own.  She then built an entire spring outfit around it.  She found a vintage 60s yellow linen dress embroidered with orange flowers, added the vintage hat, gloves and jewelry and modern orange shoes.  Voila!  Carmen said when she wore this ensemble, "...total strangers struck up conversations telling me how beautiful my outfit is and those who didn't comment smiled brightly."

Tobi sent me these pics after wearing this 1960s cocktail dress she purchased from Couture Allure to a wedding last weekend.  Tobi said she got SO many compliments.  Well, of course, Tobi.  You look beautiful!  There's Tobi with her husband above, and a full length shot below.

Laura's Back and Meet Melinda!

 You've met Laura a couple of times before.  On Friday, Laura wore this 1950s dress she purchased from Couture Allure in honor of the Royal Wedding.  With it, she wore a vintage hat and a pretty brooch by Weiss.  She told me her outfit got rave reviews at the office!

 Meet Melinda!  She bought this 1960s black silk jacquard dress from Couture Allure and wore it to a wedding this past weekend.  Doesn't she look great?  Melinda says, "For me, the secret of wearing vintage is to combine it with very modern pieces to contrast.  While I think young girls can pull off a head-to-toe vintage look, I'm 36, and on me I think head-to-toe vintage is aging.  (And also looks like I'm going to a costume party!)  So when I wear vintage, I make sure my hairstyle, shoes, purse, and jewelry are very modern and definitely not vintage."

Melinda also bought this fabulous 1960s silk dress and coat set from Couture Allure.  She wore it on Easter Sunday with bright pink peep-toe shoes that were a perfect choice!  Melinda looks just as pretty as the flower garden she stands in.  Thank you Melinda!
