Statement tees are back in fashion! I remember vividly last year reading this teeny weeny column in Londonpaper saying statement and graphic tees are out. The irony is I'm wearing one while reading it. Yikes! Thank God there's no fashion police to arrest me then. LOL. But hey, hey... see what's making a huge comeback now!
2009 sees the return of statement tee. From designers and highstreet, all are awashed with statements. Who didn't know the king and queen of the statements - Henry Holland from House of Holland and Katharine Hamnett. Their versions are kinda fun with the stamping of phrases like Save The World, Peace, Get Your Freak On Giles Deacon, etc...etc. KH also did some for charity like the one that I tried before at H&M saying these words like 'Protect and Survive' for AIDS prevention and the 'Make Poverty History' for Oxfam.

This one with "Back In The Day" is very bold and graphic. I got it cheap at £4 from Primark about two years ago. But as they say when buying things at Primark - wash today, fades tomorrow. Thankfully I bought two - and this one survives from being washed out! Nggg.....
This one is perhaps is the most eye popping tee I've ever worn. The almost neon orange 'World Without Strangers' from Giordano is quite blinding to watch. Yet, love the material, love the statement. It's what the world need right now - living together in harmony. No More Racism!!
So, whatever phrases you're wearing... get your statement out (no porn, please :D)
