BigQuickieThursday: Men Want More, TOPMAN Gives More

Ever wonder why only the girls gotta have all those 'celebs' treatment in store? Well, fret no more coz there's a new 'man' in town. Or new level, actually. Say hello to the brand new look of TOPMAN - the ultimate guy's shopping experience!

It was yesterday, after juggling my work at the lab, I made my way to Topman @ Oxford Circus to catch their new look and the much-anticipated new '2nd floor'. My verdict? One word - WOWSA!! After not visiting the store for almost 3 months, alas I stepped into the clothes galore that any man could ever dream of.

So, what's actually new? Let's see. For those who never visited Topman flagship store at Oxford Circus, London; the menswear only span on the 2nd Floor of the Topshop/Topman building. Just have a look at the 'plan' down here. Quite limited fitting rooms with curtain 'door', less cashier tills and clothes all crammed in one big open area - from tees on the left, to the denims at the center and formalwear on the right.

And now... VOILA! There's a new floor! Meaning - menswear galore!! Some of the highlights:

• The glossy blacks. From the cashier tills to the fitting rooms. And many, many, many tills. One in each floor.
• Humongous fitting rooms. About 20 at each floor with proper door that you can lock (just like @ Westfield), and leather-clad hooks.
• Special section for underwear and nightwear, with Calvin Klein collections too! Holla...
• Denim lounge on the 1st floor.
• A new stairs near the denim lounge leading to 2nd floor.
• Huge, and I mean huge area for formal wear, blazers and jackets on the 2nd floor.
• Special section for Topman LENS - for limited editions collaborated designer collection like Christopher Shannon, Mjolk, Carolyn Massey etc.
• Special section for Topman LTD, that previously you can only buy online.
• Brands section like Barracuta, Ben Sherman and Peoples Market. And you can also get special bag collection by Bill Amberg.
• Shoes galore. Now a large Office concession (like in Selfridges). And new, huge shoe section.
• Barber shop! Now you can even groom your barnet in-store.
• Feeling hungry? There's a cafe in-store and you can eat @ EAT.

Others of course all the clothes that you can imagine - from the tees to cardis, shirts to trousers and accessories that span through the two floors.

Since i have to try their new fitting room, I snatch these two pieces to try. One is the edged wool jacket (or contrast hems jacket) that I mentioned in previous blog. Great fit, great design, great fabric.

And this limited edition Christopher Shannon grafitti jeans which is so damn cool (except the price is £129, yikes!). It's previously featured in the previous MAN runway show at London Fashion Week.

Now, I think I have another 'venue' to crash every weekend coz there's loads to be tried and tested. Topman... here I come.
