Alexander McQueen, the brand, has finally joined the bandwagon of other fellow menswear designers like Armani and Dolce & Gabbana by releasing the new underwear collection for men. Consists of the briefs, boxers and vest the undies bear the signature skull print - either on the entire undergarment or just a tiny part on them. The material? Cotton-elastane, which is typical for any undies nowadays.
To be honest, I dunno why the brand entered the undies market which has been a cut-throat itself especially when it's already a steadfast by the names like Calvin Klein, Aussiebum, Bjorn Borg, Sloggi and the likes. Unless these new undies really special - like CK for their use of different fabrics and fit which has been there for ages, or Aussiebum for their signature Wonderjock 'uplifter' - I don't see any special about McQueen undies except for the skull thing which can also be found at Primark.
And the price itself - starting from £40 for a pair of briefs - come on... I dunno any typical bloke would buy those? I think the late McQueen himself would be shock if he's still alive and blame on the retail team for the overpriced undies! Would these be a success? Only time will tell... And who's gonna be the model for the ad campaign? Lady Gaga?
