Did Dolce & Gabbana got their inspiration from Malaysian batik? Quite likely so. Seeing these pics from their Spring/Summer 09 collection, they really has batik feel on them. The use of monochome shades is really cool. Very chic and edgy. Cutting - the slim silhouette - is what really an alpha male should crave for.
I think it's a nice replecment for the traditional Batik-print shirts that one normally donned at formal functions. Going for blazers with batik prints would be a great choice. I'd love to have one (or make one) coz don't wanna be looking like a stupid old people wearing that stupid batik shirt. Talking about out with the traditional, in with the edgy batik! :)
P/S: Malaysian Batik - please take it to the next level...
