UNIQLO Denim Offer Till Wednesday 26th August!

Sometimes I think that those people at Uniqlo are mad. Mad becoz they tend to reduce price to quite silly numbers. No, I don't mean it in bad way. It's good though coz they're making the clothes even more affordable. I remember getting the striped cardi at only £5 when the original price is £25! That's massive reduction! And previous weeks I got the sweat shorts at £4 (down from £13!).

And I have to share this good news too. They currently having a limited period offer on selected denim in stores and online. I am nothing but love Uniqlo denims, that's why I got almost 20 pairs! Nobody did great slim and skinny jeans other than Uniqlo. Hands down. Period.

And talking about the offer, just take a look at this one that I tried a couple of days ago. The 'All Made In Japan' slim fit jeans. Priced at £19.99, down from £49.99! Isn't that massive bonkers? Shop now till it lasts....

Summer Sale: The End

Summer Sale is over! (To me at least) Some stores has finally drawn their curtain, while some has some 'remains' to finish up all stock (eventhough none to my liking coz never in my size anyway). So, what's my findings to the summer sale this time?

  • Shoe galore! Absolutely. Without a frickin' doubt. From the net to the designer store to Harrods, it's all superb (shame on Selfridges).
  • Bad taste in shirts this time. Maybe because of summer fabrics (?). I can't match my more than 15 shirts findings of in previous Winter Sale. Same goes to trousers. If there's good one, never in my size. What's the matter with these stores? Do you really hate normal sizes that much??
  • Jackets galore too. From Zara, Topman and River Island, to Burton and Benetton. All great. Wish I could have more space to store in my wardrobe. Nggg...
  • Accessories. Voila...qudos. Selfridges excels in this department. Others like Mulberry, Boss, Gucci also superb!

So, how did I conclude?

13 shoes, (about) 11 shirts, some cardis, blazers, a number of trousers, countless accessories, a couple of discounted books and one leather bag (just one??), there's nothing more I can say. Saving well made, money well spent (eventhough I could've spent even more..LOL). Time to close book for summer sale, and open a new book for ... tadaaa!! Fall/Winter 2009.

Yet there's only one question: Why people has issue of me buying a £200 shoes?? ;)

Summer Sale Highlight: NEXT Please...

Two things that are definite turn offs when NEXT did their Sale is: 1) It's started at 5.00 in the morning. 2) Victoria line is not in service. It happened every effing time whether it's summer or winter sale. Sucks! Coz the formal shirts at Next are great and always being slashed off more than half price. But damn.. I never ever got them. :(

Btw, last Saturday brought me to their store at Westfield. At 11.00 am ~ meaning I'm waaay too late. 6 hours late! And things are not looking good coz most of stuff are snapped up right fast. No more shirts in my size on the shelves. Yet, with a plan B in mind I looked at another department - footwear (what else, right?)

There I am, finally snatched those plimsols in black and white stripes. The material is cotton twill. Kinda cool coz I don't like the one that I found at River Island. And the best part, it's only 7 quid. Plus it came with another free red lace to spice up the look. What more can I ask?

There another pair of footwear... (I promise this is the last shoes to end my summer sale this year)

Summer Sale Highlight: Manic Monday... And I'm Going Brogue

It's amazing how manic a Monday could be. I was referring to my trip to the highstreet on the beginning of the week. It's not that abnormal for me to do my shopping visit on the beginning of the week (yet alone on the day when I'm supposed to be working) but the beeline my feet is making to New Bond Street yesterday morning. As if I've been spooked, suddenly I found myself inside the Bally store! Magic innit?? (cue the scene from Confessions of a Shopaholic when Becca Bloomwood getting strucked by the green scarf, LOL!)

Anyway. Feeling like a kid in a candy store, I'm stunned by the gorgoeus Bally shoes on sale. Most are slashed to half price (or even more!). Did I get any? As manic as Monday could be, so am I. I did. I know I vowed not to get any more shoes, but I just can't get enough of boots. And I'm strucked by this brogue Chelsea boots.

The unique details of the brogue is what I'm drawn into. Like a work of art from the Swiss (and it's Swiss-made, btw). This almond-toe brogue has a very immaculate design with punched holes and wingtip, as if the leather is layered onto one another. The boots is hi-sheen making it gleams splendidly. The leather felt soft, yet the construction of the boots is a bit sturdy (mean slightly stiff). But it fits great, eventhough I have to go back twice to get a smaller size.

I like it coz it looks a bit dressy and suitable for the evening function. With the massive discount more than I can imagine (and because it's a BALLY), I just can't say no! Voila... :D

Summer Sale Highlight: Confession of A Shoe-aholic!

Confession of a shoeaholic. The infatuation with footwear continues when I visited Zara last weekend. Just like an unscripted impov play, things happened without being planned (and that's the fun part really). I snapped these two lots coz it just looks frickin'unique.

One is the laced shoes in perforated/punched hole details. I swear I've enough of laced shoes but I just can't say no to this one. This leather shoes remind me most of the Louis Vuitton SS09 collection, where perforated is making a big trend. But, this one to me is not just a trend. I can view its longevity and be a neo-classic. And with a price slash and the only one left in my size (in the whole Zara in London!)... I can't just left it on Zara's shelf, do I?!

The other one is not on sale actually, rather a new collection. The canvas wingtip pointy plimsols in white. White is huge for summer, so I'm snatching this one coz I need a canvas too since most of my white collezioni are leathers. With affordable price, what not to love.

There goes the I-dunno-what-number-already shoes to my collection!

Summer Sale Highlight: The Armani 'Hybrid' Laced Shoe

I wrote about this shoe before. And when it suddenly went on sale, I rushed to the Armani store @ New Bond Street to grab one. Unfortunately, they ain't stock in. So what did I do? Shop online instead. And with promotional free delivery by Armani it was finally arrived last week in a ginormous black box (not the airplane black box, silly!)

Say hello to my new Emporio Armani lace-up shoe. I'd like to call it the 'hybrid' shoe. Why? Coz it's a combo of canvas and leather. The body is canvas, while the trimmings and shoe laces are all leather (and the inner linings too). Fit? Gorgeous! In fact the day after it arrived, I already gave it a test drive by going shopping at Sloane Street (which find me grabbing the Hugo Boss boots). My new Armani shoes really does me justice. So comfy, doesn't heat up my feet (coz it's canvas). And with the synthetic sole, it is even better. The look is very chic and understated.

The only thing I wish, please don't let it rain outside. Or my Armani will be soaked to death!

The huge delivery box is 3 times bigger than the shoe box itself!

Summer Sale Highlight: Who's The Boss?

OMG! I was totally gobsmacked beyond surprise indeed. But esctatic at the same time. I stucked to me and still do when I read what Londonpaper said in the previous Monday issue: Hugo Boss Sale starts 25 July. That'll be like... another month. You cannot be serious!! (sorry Andy, again!). But last Wednesday after making my way back home from the meeting with head full of non-existance mathematical engineering figures to solve, I grabbed those Londonpaper again and suddenly fixated to this side column: "BOSS SALE STARTS TOMORROW". Are you kidding me?

Fret me not, I am so excited that Boss Sale is not on another month, but this month. So, yesterday I made my 'journey' to Sloane Square (the quiet street of massive designer labels) where Hugo Boss massive store is. My intention: to get that Boss Redstone white tote bag that I even put on the left pane in this blog (just for inspiration to get it LOL!).

Unluckily, it's not there. Damn it. The bags on sale is like... two thousand years ago perhaps. It's the typical Boss leather bag. Hmm.. ok then. I was about to walk out when suddenly I found there's a basement level. What? Nobody told me there's a basement level! So, went in and there's a huge arrays of bags and dressy shoes and sandals and suits and more, more, more! Yet no Redstone tote :(

While I was about to walked out again, suddenly my eyes caught something. It's the BOOTS! Voila.. I been wanting to have a boots from Hugo Boss coz they're amazing. And with this one, it ticks all boxes. Pointy front? Check. Zip-up? Check. Brogue effect? Check that too. And black leather? Hell, yeah.. check that either!

The leather is so damn soft. It's Italian-made (which is always THE best). The sole is not clunky or stompy, rather low profile that I love. The cut and design... I'm just speechless. Fantabulous! I can't keep saying 'I love it!!' when I tried them on, that the salesgirl can't keep grinning. LOL! She even mention I should try a smaller size than I usually wear coz Boss shoes is slightly a size greater than usual (meaning I should try size 9 even if my usual shoe is 10). And she's right. And with everything so perfect; this one's coming with me home (the boots, not the salesgirl). And the best part. It's on SALE!!

Voila.. there go one more boots to my credentials.
