Watch Talk: Obaku Watch - The Unity of Simplicity

It was at Monument tube station my eyes got fixated to the watch ads alongside the escalator. A watch that is so simple and minimalist that I finally tried to escape from the fact that there's other watches out other than Calvin Klein's that is also scream 'simplicity chic'.

It's Obaku watch. No, there's no relation with Obama whatsoever. The watches are the brainchild of two Danish designers - Christian Mikkelsen and Lau LiengÅrd Ruge who masters the art of fusion between the minimalistic Sacndinavian design with the Asian Zen, creating timepieces that is truly exclusive.

Yes, they look simple. But hey, doing simple things are not as easy as you may think. The simpler the design the greater the demand for perfectionism coz even small design flaws will be exposed. With very streamline, simple planes and clean shapes with a vivid strokes of detailing, the watches truly evoke classic and chic, minimum but not minimalistic.

With various design to choose from, I reckon the watch would definitely creates its own cult! (I'm in!!)
