I dedicate this post to my mates, Rash and Wei, who don't believe me when I told 'em that...
So, when I went to River Island recently and saw this tee that says "I cut my own hair", there's no cheekier time to do this post. Yes, my mates really do not believe when I told 'em that. One question that kept coming is - how do I do it?
Easy peasy. I learned it from my big bro at home - use the clipper. You know that shaver kinda thing that the barber or hairstylist used. Yes, that one. Coz the attachments come in various sizes, as long as I use the correct one (which is to be safe - the largest size), then I won't over-cropped it. One thing about cutting your own hair, the back side is the trickiest coz I can't see it. So, what I did is either to use another mirror or a digicam to capture it. Brilliant, isn't it? And, one more thing, the bottom part of the back side would never be perfectly straight coz you do need a scissors to do that. But, hey. I love it to be a 'lil bit ruff. :)
So, the question: why do I cut mine? Well, honestly because no hairdressers seems to understand what I really like. It's been almost 10 years now I cut my own hair, since the last one back in 2000 gave me a true phobia + nightmare. (Yikes!). So, I tell myself - unless your name doesn't rhyme with Nicky Clarke or Guido Palau - don't you dare touch my hair. Ahaks!
Plus, my hair grow quite fast. Every 8 - 10 days, depending on the diet or stress level I am at that moment. The better the diet or the higher the stress level is, the longer the hair become. Hehe. So, if I made the calculation right - if per visit to the barber cost me around £10 (minimum, for a decent one) - then in a year, I'll be spending almost £360 for that!? That's a cost of two Gucci shoes on sale?! And if I do it at the comfort of my own home, I can always go topless. Lol! (Going bottomless is another option. :D)
So. As long as I can save my dosh, or if a fairy Godhairdresser appears, then I'm happy with my own DIY haircut. But my advice for the non-risktakers out there: do it at your own peril. :D
