Pantone Color Report 2010

It's 2010!! Time to revive ourself with some new colors for the new year. While most of us are snuggling in the warm colors of winter (which is mostly black), some like me cannot wait for summer hues to arrive. The cheerful and fun shades of the reds, blues and greens - surely gonna kick start for a better mood in the new decade. What not? Color is the easiest mood-lifter that practically anyone can apply without the need to visit the shrinks. Ahaks! Talking about chromatotherapy, right?

So. After electric blue being the color of Spring/Summer 2009, the fashion world now is buzzing with the new color for 2010 - turquiose. Yeah, you might be saying the same thing as I did. What??

According to Pantone (the color consultant, that is), turquoise is the color for SS10. Coz it's all about optimism and good luck. I don't really know what's it all about actually, but if you're referring to the color of jade which is normally used as amulet by the Chinese, then you probably could relate to that. Bringing luck. Plus, they also said that optimism is what people are looking for right now as a sign for the economic recovery.

Btw, turquoise is not only the color to choose coz there are some color palette as well. Ranging from the primary like tomato puree red, aurora yellow and amparo blue, to the secondaries like pink champagne, dried herb and eucalyptus.

Though the color report are mostly for women, IMHO men can also give it a go as long as it remain chic and not too overpowering. But whatever it is, as Alan Flusser said in his book - you should wear any colors that enrich your complexion. Period. :)

Turquoise - Pantone color 2010

This might be the derivative of red.
And red is seen by many designers like Bottega Veneta,
Emporio Armani and Salvatore Ferregamo in SS10 menswear

Yellows are also seen in Ralph Lauren and Louis Vuitton

Any men also need a sublte tint of pink too,
like what's seen in Roberto Cavalli SS10.

These colors I think are very neutral and classic, and great for the
safari theme - tuscany, eucalyptus and dried herb
