BigFatSnoop: Uniqlo

New Autumn 2010 collection is already in store at Uniqlo. Lots of jackets, ranging from the waxed denim jackets to new corduroy and houndstooth wool blazers, cardigan with contrast piping and extra fine merino sweaters. One of the item that I love to get my hands on is this neo-leather bomber jacket. It's not a far cry from the 2008 collection but this one is much better I think. It's more symmetrical, the fit is awesome and the most talked about feature - the crumpled texture. As if Uniqlo has turned itself from being a good boy into a bad one!

It has two zippered pockets on the chest and two at the bottom. The hang is better coz it fall nicely on the hip. Another important feature - the tabbed collar; it fit way better than previous bomber jackets in last years' collection.

New season means new denims. This time around Uniqlo did a very innovative move in introducing a 'Stay Color' in their UJ range. What is stay color you asked? You know when you wash any jeans, the color seems to be slightly washed out. It happens to me all the time, and that's why the golden rule in washing jeans says 'do not wash it in the first 100 days'!

Anyway, with this revolutionary technique from Uniqlo, the texture and color will remains even after multiple washes. Another thing I like about this new collection, it fits much better - coz the presence of 'elastane' in the fabric adds to it becoming much more 'snuggly'. Plus the color is even richer compared to the current one without the color stay.

I like the new wool blazers at Uniqlo. I picked this one up to try coz it is so amazingly soft and very fluid. When I looked at the label it says 'tweed'. But to be honest this one is nothing similar to any typical tweed like my Topman jacket. It's in between the typical wool like in Uniqlo's +J collection and a 'coarse tweed'. Or shall I give a new name to this one - micro-tweed (you got micro-suede, so why not right?).

This jacket is awesome. Though the fit is regular , it fit perfectly well. The texture is amazing. It's like a new reinterpretation of a traditional English tweed. =)
