TRENDSPOTTING: Black-on-White Shirt

White shirt is a must in any wardrobe. It is the easiest one to pair with any pants and suit, yet the most important it looks professional. No doubt. But giving it with a dash of black on the hem, be it on the cuff, lapels or button piping.. and Voila! You got an edgy look.

It actually already sprung last Spring/Summer08 at Zara, and continues to this season. Asos offers a very cheap shirt with black buttons on white. It look more casual, and suitable to be donned during Casual Fridays. Peter Werth @ ASOS, on the other hand look chic with a subtle yet edgy approach. The black stitching is given at the cuff and lapels too, yet the white buttons doesn't make it look too flamboyant. The one at River Island also look amazing with black lining at the central core of the shirt. Thrown with a matching black tie, this is the one to look for. And the most important, they're all cheapo!
