TRENDSPOTTING: Floral and Batik Print Tie

Sometimes it's a nightmare thinking what to wear during the formal dinner back in Malaysia. While the most common attire is to always stick on Batik shirt, one might ask how many shirts could one have? With the price of one Batik attire could start any from RM100.00 (for a good quality fabric and non-tacky, decent print), having too many would certainly break the piggy bank for most of us.

Instead of wearing a common Batik shirt, one way to spruce up the formal dinner attire is to stick with plain 'base' shirt, but play around with the Batik or Batik-look accessories (not scarf, you idiot!). Tie is the safe choice coz you can experiment with many kinda prints yet still sticking to a minor part of the overall attire. Floral print can also make way, with subtle paisley print could be a better choice.

Noor Arfa Batik did a collection of Batik tie. So as River Island and Topman with the floral tie. Whatever the choice, stick to a decent print. Otherwise you'll end up looking like a kooky clown!
