An Afternoon @ London Fashion Week

Oh man, London Fashion Week is almost come to an end! Time flies that fast, huh? The biannual event is now reached it's 25th Anniversary, and what better to get a new direction of British fashion extravaganza than to change the venue as well. Previously it was held at Natural History Museum, grazing the huge open space in front of the gothic-look building. But now...say hello to the Somerset House, where the new event took place. I think it's much better coz it gave a bit of 'secluded', exclusive feel; rather than at NHM where you got loads of mums and dads pushing the prams in front of the tent, kids shouting around and not to mention tourist all over queueing for the same entrance to the museum/BFC tent. Not cool...

Anyway. I gotta chance to go for a quick afternoon to see what happens a couple of days ago. The tent is not as big as at NHM, coz there you got two storeys. But at least it you got loads of other rooms in the Somerset House itself to showcase the designer's collection.
Apart from the fashion shows and exhibition, some of my fav highlight:
  • The Matches pop-up store in front of the tent, in a very cool, tatoo-look. They're selling special editions tees and oversized cotton carry bag for the LFW 25th Anniversary. I snapped the Issa-designed carry bag - kinda ants 'swirling' around.

  • The Emporio Armani Caffe @ St Martins Lane, which is quite close to Somerset House. And you got a complimentary rickshaw drive to the cafe. Nice..

  • As usual, The Daily - an everyday must-read during the event.

  • Oh, if you buy the merchandise @ Matches, you can catch a sneak preview what's gonna be in their stores (and e-shop) too. Who don't like trendspotting, right?

  • And of course, the LFW version of Union Jack in monochrome. Damn cool...

Tomorrow it's gonna be the last day. And it's MAN on WEDNESDAY! Dedicated just for menswear. Anyone got ticket?! Give me a shout!
