Trendspotting: Designers and the Kingdom of The Skull

Sounds like a new movie title. Whether it's a new fad or just plain mad, designers has gone wild with the skull designs. Started by the Brit's infamous Damien Hirst for his diamante skull that fetch millions of pounds during auction and his 100+ odd colorful skull at British Museum display, the designers too has donned the skull prints on their designs. Be it on wallet, jewellery or just on the plain tee, the skeleton is making a new craze. If you are a fan of the Pirate of the Caribbean movie or just wanna make a bold fashion statement, I say why not?

So, whose done what?

  • Prada - has come up with wallet and coin purse with the skull print on the front. Both are made of gabardine fabric with saffiano leather trim. The wallet has 8 credit card slots and notes compartments.

  • Galliano - offers a belt with the skull print on the buckle. Suit for those who wanna unleashed the rock dude in you. (Or just plain stupid pirate..)

  • Vivienne Westwood - the queen of rock 'n roll fashion designs a range of accessories like the army tag pendant, earrings and necklace bearing the skeleton.

  • Alexander McQueen - long-sleeve tee with embroidered skull. If u have nothing to wear during Halloween, snap this one to be safe. LOL!
