SHORTLIST Style: Pinstripe Suit

In the sacred word of 'greed is good', are you ready for a dash of Gordon Gekko comeback to the big screen again? In Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps Michael Douglas reprises his role as the infamous banker at the world's most renowned financial street, not as a villain like in the previous movie two decades ago - rather more of an antihero. How's his performance alongside his new mentee, Shia Lebouf? Well, that you have to watch it yourself coz different people might have a different opinion about the film.

Anyway, one of the staple feature of any bankers is the suit that they're wearing. Especially those high-flyer, City guys that wander around Canary Wharf or EC area (Bank of England, Liverpool Street, Leadenhall and the likes..), looking very sharp mostly in designer labels like Armani or Brooks Brothers suits. IMO, the traditional, sharpest look is none other than a pinstripe one which set them apart from the others.

In the current issue of SHORTLIST mag, there's a selection of pinstripe suits to choose from. Single- or double-breasted, narrow or medium stripes, as well as various body type - they're all there to give you some variety. My choice would definitely be the one worn by the model, Matt B himself; looks very glorious in a midnite blue, mod cut by Richard James that's truly a dire accent from the famous Saville Row.

Btw, love the quote from previous Wall Street movie (but use it at your own peril!):

"Greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right. Greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures, the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge, has marked the upward surge of mankind and greed..."
