Another designer has raided my wardrobe again? (Just kidding). If last Spring/Summer '10, Dries Van Noten and Issey Miyake have sent off some of their models wearing the sarong trousers, this time it's Duckie Brown who did the honor. A couple of pieces which looks like the typical sarong checks design are seen on some models for SS11 show recently. It's not unusual for designers to grab the inspiration from South East Asia though coz lots of them like to go for holidays in Langkawi or Penang in Malaysia, or even at the Gulf of Thailand where these kind of look is very commonly seen.
So, does this mean that the kind of pants that the fishermen back there in northern states of Malaysia used to wear daily has now officially stamped to be high fashion? I couldn't be happier. :)
