Spring/Summer 2011 Trend: ANIMO

It seems that both parts of the Atlantic agreed on the same theme for next Spring/Summer 2011; the ANIMO trend. Yup, you heard it right. It's not the popular anime, but animo - my own made up term for 'animal camo'. How's it look like? Well, basically you take the silhouette or images of an animal, then made a camo version through multilayering it then voila.. you got yourself an animo.

On the left side of the Atlantic, John Bartlett has shown his animo collection during the previous presentation for New York Fashion Week. His version is using dog as the basis of the camo and seen on quite a number of pieces like shirts and shorts. They come in many color choices too like the shades of brown, olive, pink and blue. Quite a tasteful collection with a humor twist on it.

On the right side of the Atlantic, Topman Design showcased their animo take on some pieces at the Royal Opera House during the previous Man on Wednesday in London Fashion Week. The basis of the camo? Fox. A good theme indeed since fox have become much of a debate in England lately due to their roaming around both in the urban and rural areas. I saw quite a number of them recently, even outside of the Buckingham Palace! Though the animo by TMD is more towards fox prints rather than truly camo, yet it's a new take on the camouflage to be taken as a trend for Spring/Summer 2011.

So, what animal's gonna be the next animo? You decide... :)

[I think my nephews would love to have the dinosaurs camo, so that it'll become dinamo!]
